Physical Therapy at Garner & Riley Physical Therapy always involves coordination with your other health care providers.  A treatment plan is formulated around a diagnosis or following a recent surgery provided by your family practitioner, specialist, chiropractor, or podiatrist.

Treatment begins with a thorough evaluation by a physical therapist that is a Doctorate of Physical Therapy or recognized Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. Evaluation will include a review of systems, your medical history, previous conditions and testing to assure that you will benefit from physical therapy. An appropriate plan of care will then be established with your input to begin the rehabilitation process. Treatments vary, but a typical course of treatment could include a combination of exercise for strengthening and range of motion, manual therapy to improve soft tissue or joint mobility, aquatic therapy, as well as education and prevention of re-injury.  Other treatments that are occasionally used include Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) or a variety of heat, cold, and/or electrical modalities.

Modification of the program will occur as you progress toward your goals. Our therapy staff remains in contact with your referring healthcare provider throughout the duration of your time at Garner & Riley Physical Therapy.  Your physician will be notified with any concerns that may affect your treatment or progress.

Upon reaching your goals, you will be independent with a regimen for you to continue on an individual basis.  If appropriate, you will also have the opportunity to continue if you wish in a Community Wellness Program.
